The 2018 Final HH Payment Rule and Potential Impact of HHGM

The Final Home Health Payment Rule for 2018 was released November 1, and even though the Home Health Groupings Module (HHGM) was NOT FINALIZED at this time, implementation may still be on the horizon in 2019 or 2020. Industry expert Melinda Gaboury will provide updates on what to expect in 2018, as well as how HHGM would affect you if finalized in later years.

The 2018 Final Rule for Home Health will have a major impact on agencies, including rate changes for 2018 Home Health PPS, changes to the Value Based Purchasing Pilot, and numerous considerations for HHQRP changes.

If finalized in 2019 or later, under HHGM, the 60-day episode of care is replaced with a 30-day period of payment and patients are placed into one of 144 payment groups. Low Utilization Payment Adjustments (LUPA) will exist in the HHGM, but there will be multiple ways to calculate versus the current standard. All this and more will be addressed in this must hear webinar.

Objectives:

  1. Detail new PPS rates & changes to case mix weights for 2018
  2. List core changes to the PPS system if HHGM is finalized in 2019 or 2020
  3. Document changes to the Home Health Quality Reporting Program (HHQRP)
